Bowen Therapy in Albury/Wodonga

Bowen Therapy is a gentle muscle release technique that is used for re-alignment, restoration, and relaxation. It is an helpful treatment for a wide variety of conditions, both acute and chronic.

Maureen Barry is fully qualified in the Bowen technique and has been delivering this unique, hands-on healing treatment for many years. In addition to her private patients, Maureen has also treated residents at local aged care facilities.

How does it work?

Bowen Therapy is not considered massage, but rather a non-invasive technique that involves gentle, precise movements over muscles, tendons, or ligaments. The cross-fibre movement, which is performed in short sequences, releases tension, stimulates energy flow, and allows the body to redress areas of imbalance, naturally.

The treatment can be performed through light clothing, and sessions can last between 30 and 45 minutes. Many people experience immediate relief and continued improvement over the following days.

Chronic or more serious complaints may require two to three sessions of the Bowen Technique with a break of five to ten days between each session. However, many people receive treatments on a regular basis just as they would a massage to help keep their body balanced.
